class given to twelve third-year students at the cultural academy of tartu university in viljandi, estonia.
we spent two days learning descriptive geometry, or developed drawing, techniques in the classroom, followed by three days at the academy's loodi estate workshops lofting and cutting models of compound roof systems.
students worked in pairs to cut six models, with each reflecting a different combination of irregular plan/regular plan, hip/valley, and purlin/common rafter roofs.
